Free Online Backlinks Checker Tools
There are numerous tools online that you can use to check your website backlinks. Every one of them are not free, however the greater part of them offer free trials or set number of backlinks. Ahrefs
It is actually my favorite website to check backlinks. It claims to be the largest index of backlinks, and the information is very up to date. Ahrefs updates its backlinks database every few hours, so if you are building 10 backlinks today, you should be able to see that 10 backlinks being added tomorrow. In terms of interface, Ahrefs is pretty user friendly website. You simply go to the website, and then type in your website url and click the Try it for FREE button, within few minutes, it will list the summaries of your backlinks information in graphic displays. Try it if you don’t believe me; you will love to use it. The only downside is for the free version, you can only run backlinks check for limited times per day.
Majestic SEO
Although not as up to date and detail as Ahrefs, Majestic SEO is still the top website to check backlinks. Majestic SEO also offer both free and paid version. For the free version, you can only see limited backlinks information. However, it does give you overview of how many backlinks that your site currently has. Just like Ahrefs, you can only have limited clicks as well on the report page before a login page will be displayed and ask you to pay to see the report. In overall, Majestic SEO is still a good tool to check backlinks.
Open Site Explorer
It is one of Moz tools; it is pretty popular but does not have large index of backlinks, so backlinks information is not really up to date. However, it does provide some information that the others do not provide, such as Authority ranking number, Page links matrix and Page Social Metrics (Moz Pro subscribers only). For the free version, you will see top 5 links information, such as inbound links, top pages, anchor texts, etc. Do aware that the number of backlinks that is displayed is not accurate or up to date. However, it is still an awesome backlinks checker tool to check it out.
These three are my most loved tools to check backlinks, and they are really popular in the SEO group too.
